Gregg Allman Searching for Simplicity Rock Music CD Review

One word describes the CD Searching For Simplicity from Gregg Allman… AWESOME!

It’s a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I’m more than happy to announce that’s exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all.

One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you’ve got one of Gregg Allman’s most impressive releases ever.

If you’re a Gregg Allman fan, or just a fan of Rock music this is a CD your collection simply should not be without.

While the entire CD is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 3 – Come Back And Help Me, track 4 – Silence Ain’t Golden Anymore, and track 13 – Startin’ Over.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Whippin’ Post. Wow!

Pop Music That Made American History – The Top Twenty Songs of the First Half Century of Rock N Roll

The world changed dramatically during the second half of the Twentieth Century, Visit Here http://newmoviesong.blogspot.com

as the United States became the most powerful nation both politically and culturally. One American phenomenon that has left its mark in all corners of the world is pop music. Here is my list of the most important pop songs of the Twentieth Century, in chronological order. Perhaps they were not the first, the best or the most original, but they were the right thing at the right time, and they changed history.

1. “Rock Around the Clock,” (1954). Bill Haley and the Comets. In the early years of Rock music, the inclusion of this song would be a no brainer. It was the first great Rock and Roll hit, selling 25 million copies. Nowadays, we may have a desire to right the record, and say that black performers like Big Joe Turner, Bo Diddley and Ike Turner were the real originators of the style, but the fact is that in the segregated atmosphere of that time, it was necessary for a talented white group to champion the music to a larger audience. The Comets were able to rise to the occasion.

Has rock & pop music lost it”s identity?

Many years ago, if you heard a song on the radio, in a shop or bar, you would immediately know the name of the artist or band. Back in the 80’s this was certainly true, especially the pop charts. Since the 90’s though this individuality seemed to trail off with musical styles from different genres being homogenized into rap, R&B and dance for instance. This could be due to the huge US gangsta rap influence — even the spice girls seemed to have borrowed from this. Fashion obviously has a big influence. Could this be why the 80’s is making such a big comeback?

Rock music, on the other hand has seen something of a Renaissance in recent years, often going back to its various innovations like punk, 60″s beat and classic rock. Bands like The Artic Monkeys, The Feeling and Franz Ferdinand are certainly good examples of this. The Killers and Coldplay on the other hand owe a lot to 8o”s bands like The Cure or U2 but made a style all of their own. The interesting thing with rock as opposed to pop is that the rock bands seem to stay together much longer. U2 are an obvious example. The Rolling Stones seem to roll on for ever and even Status Quo are still on the go and numerous others which you don”t hear much of these days. The biggest bands in pop on the other hand i.e. The Beatles, ABBA and The Spice Girls only lasted a few years — often being offered multi-million deals to reform with only the spice girls capitulating. Even so pop seems to have more comeback bands now such as Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and Micheal Jackson. Though Micheal.Jackson had never really left the public eye, he hadn”t toured for over ten years. With his recent death of course, everybody wants a piece of the nostalgia that has blossomed as a result of it. It”s doubtful whether his unique blend of musical style and individuality will ever be matched.

Why is Christian Rock Music so Popular?

“Christian Rock”, the genre often scoffed at by traditional rock artists, enthusiasts & critics alike is gaining popularity and stamping its place as a sort after genre for the young generation of head-banging, mosh-pitting gurus! Didn’t Christian rock die a couple of years ago, you ask? Christian rock music is growing faster than ever before with Daily News of Christian Rock Music, new artists & albums streaming across the Internet and pumping the airways continuously every day. So where did this religious music come from? I mean this is new right?

This type of rock music wasn’t around 20 years ago, was it? Well I didn’t think so until recently, the reality is Christian music or should I say Christian rock music has been around seemingly since the dawn of creation! So why seeing it today all the time? Where were the God Rocker’s for so long and what happened to the voice of damnation for those participating in anything other than a church hymn or Sunday school choir? The chastity belt of today’s Christian rock is alive and kicking. There are many religious organisations who oppose this form of music, I will talk more about this opposition later.
