Posted by admin
Music Studio

Thanks to technological innovations, including professional recording software more artists are creating home recording studios, and even laptop studios. This article will provide tips and ideas to help you create the perfect home based studio for you and your music, based on your budget and needs.

Before you begin, consider whether you plan to record all of the songs and or musicians and instruments associated with a project all at once, or individually. You should also factor your familiarity with computers and recording software in general into the equation.

If you arent as familiar with recording software tools as you would like to be, the good news is that most music recording software offers simplified versions of their full software programs, that can be upgraded to full versions later, once youve mastered the basics. These programs provide a good introduction to the fundamentals of recording software.

If you are going to build a studio, keep in mind that software studios are much more space saving than hardware studios, but if space is not an issue, then a traditional hardware studio may be your best option.

A mobile laptop studio is always a good option for the truly pressed for space, since this offers you the greatest flexibility, and most laptops are more than capable of running recording and mixing software and programs. This means that your recording studio can go with you, and you will never leave home without it.

Are you jealous of people lucky enough to work from home? It’s quite a luxury to be able to roll out of bed, jump on the laptop and begin your work day. You get to avoid the distractions of loud offices and in almost all cases, improve productivity. The idea of working from home can become a reality if you’re an up and coming musician – or even a well-established musician. Some artists are lucky enough to have studios in their own home, and then utilize the tools of online audio mastering. This way they save time and money on going to a studio.

That money and time saved can be translated into more production of music. Instead of having to worry about booking a studio – which also costs a lot of money – you can now focus on writing good quality music. The in-house studio is inside your element. Plus, you get to roll out of bed and go to work. When working with any art form, feeling comfortable produces the best creative work. Instead of working in a stiff and stuffy studio in some warehouse or industrial complex, you’ll be able to create your own space. Musicians can even decorate the space to their liking and place inspirational materials around the studio.

Create Music Beat – Make Your Own Beats

Down tempo is a smooth style combining slow beats with an ambient style. It’s intended to be relaxing. It’s the electronica equivalent to smooth jazz.

When creating a down-tempo track in acid music studio I recommend setting your BPM fairly low, around 90 to 70. Use slower, hypnotic “groove type” beats, and arrange nice instrumental pieces over it. You can use vocals and other soothing noise in the back ground to help fill out the track.

With downbeat (same thing) its all about being nice and chilled.

Try finding a nice rock style drum loop, or even better a blues or jazz drum loop. Set your beats per minute at about 90 and layer some other light percussion on top. You can use another loop, or you can make it all from scratch. Your call.

Find a nice bass loop that really meshes smooth with the drums. I like to let the bass play louder than the drums, but that’s my style. If you play bass, you will have an advantage in down-tempo music.

Now use some smooth synth loops, or something you play yourself. Make it kinda float over the top of the drums and bass. Try to keep everything smooth and groovy. No sudden changes.

A nice slow acoustic guitar melody works really well for down-tempo. Aim to make something that has your foot tapping along to the beat at a nice slow and even pace.
