Before You Buy A Musical Instrument

Posted by admin

Buying a musical instrument is not all that easy as you may think. This is very true when you think of the conditions under which the device will be subjected to. There are lots of self addressed questions to consider getting to the right plan. It is a must that you provide genuine answers to these questions; else you are making a fool of yourself. These self addresses question are:

What is the frequency of usage of that instrument? With this, you will have to think of the number of people that will be using the appliance. This will determine the durability of the appliance. I will thus advocate you go in for a brand new and solid appliance. Keep in mind that depreciation comes as a result of continues usage.

What types of occupation are you involved in or how do you structure your leisure time? Are you always on the move or are you sedentary? Think of the convenience and risk involved in carrying that instrument about. Also note that a particular size may be suitable or unsuitable to carry about if you intend doing so.

What time can be suitable for that purchase? It is evident that the prices of goods and commodities fluctuate throughout the year. For example, items can be very costly during the periods of December, beginning of January and in April (Easter), due to a high demand from consumers. Items are needed for better enjoyment of these festivity periods. Consider shopping when prices are least.

Music for Events – How to pick the right musicians!

Posted by admin

Everybody knows that planning the perfect music for your event can be stressful whether you are looking for unique entertainment or simply background moods.  You may be booking for either wedding music, corporate event music or are having a special commission being performed and yet the anxious feeling still remains the same.  In an ideal world you want to be complimented about your booking decision by your peers but when you are relying on other people to be on time, be professional and provide the goods it can make you on edge until after the event.

So here is some tips to help you get your day right!

What type of music do I need?

Firstly you need to decide what you are wanting to achieve with the music.  Is it simply background music or is it a performance you require?  If you think your guests are going to want to chat and not need to shout, you need to choose background music.  A featured performance can be an excellent way to signify the event is moving into a new phase e.g. speeches or a lecture, or it can signify the end of your event.

How Do I Make a Music Demo?

Posted by admin

For the purpose of this article I am going to assume you don’t know how to produce otherwise the title of this article would be, ‘How do I produce my music’!

Making a good music demo seems simple on the surface but dig a little deeper and there is a lot to get right. If you choose a producer whom you know is a competent and skilled writer, you will end up with a better-finished product if you invite his/her input.

I think choosing your music studio producer would rank as one of the most important aspects of recording a demo. Madonna for example had a knack of finding the right people for her. Think of your producer as your partner, their sound and their style will become your sound and your style.

So how do I find a good music producer to make my music demo?

If you have lots of money you would listen to your favourite songs and call the guys that produced it! If however you are looking for a small studio with big talent you will need to start by making sure the producer understands your music style inside and out.

Musical Instruments Make Better Toys

Posted by admin

So many children’s toys these days have virtually no value after a very short time. Musical instrument toys however have the potential to last for a lifetime. Not just from a durability perspective, but they are one of the few toys you can buy your children that can have a positive effect on them for the rest of their lives. Apart from the educational value, musical instrument toys can expose your children to the value of art and artistry through music. There are musical instrument toys for kids of all age. From infants to teenagers. Of course, at some point they stop being toys, and become real musical instruments. Apart from the biggest difference being price, the older your kids are when playing with musical instruments, the more likely the positive long term effects will be.

It Starts With A Little Rhythm

The younger the better. All babies love banging pots and pans, which is a pretty reasonably priced solution for a musical instrument, but at some point you may want to move them up to something thatdoesn’t have spaghetti stains on it. Possibly even something a little quieter. Some basic little xylophones, or tiny baby sized piano keyboards would be a good choice. I’ve seen some music books with a piano keyboard attached. The keys were all numbered, and the music book had the numbers superimposed on top of the written notes. Simple enough for any child to pick up, as well as providing a great introduction to reading sheet music. Albiet at a very simplistic level, but still a start.
