Beginning Rap Beat Production

Posted by admin

One of the fastest growing markets in the entertainment industry is the buying and selling of rap/hip-hop/trance beats.  The ease of creation and the fast amount of options given the user to create an original sound is astounding.  In this article I will explain the basics of creating a good beat for your own music venture, or to sell to others and make money doing something you love.

To make a good beat, you must first acquire some form of beat making software, and many are available.  The following instructions will fit any software you choose to use, as these are more musical guidelines than software-specific instructions.

This will not be easy money, and will take months of practice to be proficient enough to sell your product to an artist or to use for yourself.  But any aspiring rap producer should be more than will to put the work in to create something original that could one day be used by the next up-and-coming rap artist.

Step 1:

Advances in technology have now given anyone the tools required to make beats from their personal computer with no additional equipment (synthesizers, midi controllers, drums, etc.)

Step 2:

(NOTE: If you are going to sample a song from another artist, make sure you have their permission, as this could lead to harsh fines and unwanted legal trouble!)

Freddie Hubbard Ready for Freddie Jazz Music CD Review

Posted by admin

Ready For Freddie is the latest Jazz CD put out by the richly talented Freddie Hubbard who once again has delivered a brilliant collection of tracks. I’m confident Freddie Hubbard fans, and Jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one.

Freddie Hubbard has been a heavy hitter in the Jazz genre for quite a while now and Ready For Freddie is an excellent illustration as to why.

Ready For Freddie has a pleasantly varied, mix of 7 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly gifted artist. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are him own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. They’re all here.

Overall Ready For Freddie is an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up and is most definitely a worthy addition to any Jazz collection. Truly an outstanding Jazz CD. One of those that is completely void of any wasted time, as each track is simply superb.

While the entire CD is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 1 – Arietis, track 3 – Marie Antoinette, and track 7 – Marie Antoinette.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 5 – Crisis. Great track!

Maria Carey Butterfly Pop Music CD Review

Posted by admin

Not sure what’s happening with me on this one, but it seems like the more I listen to it, the better Butterfly gets. Butterfly stated simply is one of Maria Carey’s best CDs to date.

Unfortunately, it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Butterfly. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you’ve got one of Maria Carey’s most impressive releases ever.

Overall Butterfly is an outstanding release. Quite possibly Maria Carey’s best to date. Really sensational from beginning to end. If you’re even mildly into Pop music you’ll enjoy this CD.

While this entire CD is really very good some of my favorites are track 5 – Fourth Of July, track 9 – Whenever You Call, and track 12 – Outside

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Honey. Outstanding!

Tango:

Tango, one of the most popular music genres of Latin America was originated in Argentina in 1890s. The working class created this new rhythm. They were inspired by the Cuban habanera as well as the local milonga. The music used to reflect a pessimistic mood. It used to depict the sorrow brought forth by unavoidable destiny.

Tango was adopted by the people of USA in 1910s and it took a new direction. Instead of echoing a melancholy mood it started portraying a more erotic mood. “Yo Soy La Morocha” by Enrique Saborido is considered to be one of the earliest hits of Tango. Tango was enriched with more poetic lyrics in the era of 1930s when literate song writes make it an intellectual affair.
